Fred Perry Subculture are excited to host the fifth Subsonic Live event at The Garage in Islington this Friday. Once again a line up of unique musical acts have been brought together to ensure a memorable night of energised and ecclectic pop.
Headlining the event is Chew Lips, whose frontwoman, Alicia 'Tiggs' Huertas, is known for her charismatic stage presence and infectious melodies. Appearing on the radar in 2009 with their debut single "Solo" followed by the album “Unicorn”, released in 2010 to critical acclaim, Chew Lips are one to watch.
Support comes from Fiction, who recently signed to Moshi Moshi and have toured with the likes of Warpaint, Klaxons and Metronomy. London based duo, I Am A Camera, will be performing their addictive electro-pop tunes, whilst DJ sets from Princess Julia, The Lovely Jonjo, The Fly and White Heat will keep the dance floor buzzing.

Fred Perry celebrates a heritage built on sporting excellence with a unique Athletics blank canvas for summer 2012. Back in '52 the creation of our first cotton pique shirt was seen as a revolutionary move, adding a technical edge to the traditional tennis shirt whilst also allowing for maximum freedom and breathability on the court. 60 years on and Fred Perry have contemporised the pique shirt once more, creating four limited edition shirts with modern sports-tech detailing including panels of performance mesh, laser cut pockets, air vents and rubberised branding. The finished pieces are the perfect hybrid of traditional and technical details, adding a modernist edge to our unmistakable styling.

2012 sees Fred Perry celebrate 60 years as an icon of street fashion, with a series of special events and limited edition items being launched throughout the year. Formed in 1952 by the British tennis legend and table tennis champion of the same name; Fred Perry has crossed over from a purely sporting heritage, sharing a unique relationship with British subcultures that continues to be relevant today. The past 60 years has built on this unique sports and streetwear history, forming one of the most enduring and affectionate relationships between youth culture and a brand.
Our 60 year activity begins with six limited edition Fred Perry shirts, inspired by archive pieces and created using colour references taken directly from the original 1950s catalogue. Made in England, the Authentic ’52-‘12 twin tipped shirts feature specially designed Laurel Wreath branding, commemorating our founding and anniversary dates.
