Peter Blake - Four Decades
The Chelsea Futurespace Gallery presents Four Decades, an exhibition of prints by iconic British artist and former Fred Perry collaborator Sir Peter Blake. Known as one of the figureheads of the British Pop Art movement, Blake’s work takes influence from the realms of pop culture, literature, music and contemporary art.

Included in the exhibition are Blake’s series of Appropriated Alphabets, Alice in Wonderland, and The Butterfly Man, as well as portraits of musicians Chuck Berry, Ian Dury and The Clash. Covering forty years of the artist’s work, the exhibition explores the diversity and dexterity that allows it to transcend the divisions between fine art and pop culture.
Four Decades will run at Chelsea Futurespace until 28th July, 2013.

What Presence! Post Punk Photography
Photographer Harry Papadopoulos takes a step back in time to explore the glamour and grit of the 1980s post punk music scene, in new exhibition What Presence!
Taking place at the McManus Art Gallery & Museum, Dundee, the new exhibition offers a glimpse behind the lens of one of Scotland’s most legendary music photographers, featuring the likes of Aztec Camera, The Birthday Party, The Specials and The Clash.

A self-taught photographer, Papadopoulos began his career by selling photographs to gig-goers outside the Apollo in the late 1970s. He later became a staff photographer for Sounds magazine where he captured a number of music stars on film: from Blondie to David Bowie, the Associates to Devo, by way of Joy Division, Bryan Ferry and Siouxsie and the Banshees. A cult figure on the music scene, Papadopoulos’ London flat became a second home to fellow Scots migrants such as Orange Juice, Aztec Camera, Josef K and The Bluebells.
What Presence! is a touring exhibition from the Streetlevel Photoworks in Glasgow, which was co-curated by singer from The Bluebells, Ken McCluskey. Taking place until Sunday 11th August, the exhibition will be accompanied by a series of talks, impromptu music events and workshops.

Exactitudes at the Tate Modern
Photographer Ari Versluis and profiler Ellie Uyttenbroek will visit the Hyperlink Festival at London's Tate Modern this weekend, hosting two workshops alongside an open casting call to be a part of the duo's latest piece of work. Working as 'The Exactitudes' since 1994, Ari and Ellie have long been inspired by the dress codes adopted by various social groups, adopting an almost scientific approach to their archiving of street fashions.

The creative partners are one of the contributors to our 60 Year Anniversary Gallery, creating a unique customisation of our iconic Fred Perry shirt with multiple embroidered Laurel Wreaths on the chest. Join the duo at the Tate Modern this Saturday, to learn about their techniques and see a live portrait session with members of the public.
The Exactitudes photography workshops will take place this Sunday 28th April at the Clore Studio, Tate Modern, London. Find out more about the three day Hyperlink Festival here.
