May's Music

The last weekend in May sees a myriad of musical events, including two particularly exciting festivals. Once again Fred Perry Subculture have teamed up with Dot-to-Dot Festival to bring three days of music to Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester on the 28th, 29th and 30th respectively. Last year saw the likes of Wild Beasts, Blood Red Shoes and dreamy Baltimore two-piece Beach House perform; all of whom have gone from strength to strength since featuring at the three day event.

This year's line-up features the eclectic fare that the festival has become famous for, with established acts Hurts and We Are Scientists playing alongside exciting newcomers Is Tropical, Braids and Alpines to name but a few.

Canadian natives Braids play Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester as part of Dot-to-Dot Festival 2011.

Over in Spain, Barcelona's Parc Del Forum hosts the city's eleventh San Miguel Primavera Sound festival, with an incredible line-up headlined by none other than Britpop pioneers Pulp. Other highlights include PJ Harvey and Nick Cave's project Grinderman, alongside left field acts such as Salem, the much hyped Odd Future and Britain's James Blake. Set in spacious surroundings against a backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, Primavera Sound continues to garner praise as one of Europe's most varied and enjoyable music festivals.
