'Good Vibrations' Film in Production
Thursday, 1st Sep 2011
Known as 'The Godfather of Belfast Punk', Terri Hooley set up the boundary crossing Good Vibrations recording label and record shop whilst managing Irish punk pioneers such as The Outcasts and The Undertones in the mid 1970s. Making a headstrong impact on the music scene during a period of great unrest in Belfast, Terri's story has long been rumoured to be making the transition to the silver screen, with filming finally beginning this August.
Actors Steeve Coogan and Michael Fassbender have been confirmed to be taking part, as well as local actor Robert Sheehan in the lead role. Terri Hooley famousley sent an Undertones demo tape to influential broadcaster John Peel, who helped to propel the band and their frontman Feargal Sharkey to international fame. Good Vibrations is set for release in 2012, so watch this space!
