Barbican Film are offering a rare opportunity to see classic 60s television series The Avengers on the big screen, in celebration of the show's 50th Anniversary. The event will take place on Wednesday 30th November and will include a Q&A session with cast and crew from the series, including director Gerry O’Hara and scriptwriter Roger Marshall.
The Avengers became one of the first British shows to be aired on US television; projecting an image of young, fresh, 60s London through its key female character Miss Emma Peel. Played by actress Diana Rigg, the character became both a symbol of female independence and a fashion icon, with an array of contemporary mod outfits including pieces by Pierre Cardin.
The 50th anniversary celebration evening will include screenings of cult episodes Mandrake (1964) and The Hour That Never Was (1965). For more information including ticket details and directions, please visit Barbican Film HERE.
