Peter Blake - Four Decades

The Chelsea Futurespace Gallery presents Four Decades, an exhibition of prints by iconic British artist and former Fred Perry collaborator Sir Peter Blake. Known as one of the figureheads of the British Pop Art movement, Blake’s work takes influence from the realms of pop culture, literature, music and contemporary art.

Included in the exhibition are Blake’s series of Appropriated Alphabets, Alice in Wonderland, and The Butterfly Man, as well as portraits of musicians Chuck Berry, Ian Dury and The Clash. Covering forty years of the artist’s work, the exhibition explores the diversity and dexterity that allows it to transcend the divisions between fine art and pop culture.

Four Decades will run at Chelsea Futurespace until 28th July, 2013.

Introducing Sir Peter Blake

We're pleased to announce the involvement of seminal British artist Sir Peter Blake in our next blank canvas collection. Peter has created some of the most iconic cover art of the last fifty years, most notably for The Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Paul Weller's Stanley Road. Launching soon, the collection references the artist's unique affiliation with 60s pop iconography, showcased across three limited edition shirt styles.

Each of the three shirt styles have been made and printed in England in a numbered run of 1000. Keep an eye on the Limited Edition section of FredPerry.com for further updates.
