There Are No Innocent Bystanders

This year sees the tenth anniversary of the East End Film Festival, and 2011's programme looks set not to disappoint. Opening with the world premiere of Roger Sargent's  'The Libertines - There Are No Innocent Bystanders', audiences will be given the chance to see never before seen footage of the band that everyone had an opinion on.

Spawning a thousand copyists but combusting in 2004 before they could reach their true potential, The Libertines reformed in 2010 with performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals. Seargent's all-access documentary follows this rather unexpected reunion, going behind the tabloid headlines to to give viewers unrivalled access to the love, laughter, passion and power of a band which united and inspired a generation. Often described as the UK's most important music photographer and photojournalist; Roger Sargent has approached The Libertines' tale with a unique approach, profilling each band member individually and collectively in a way that has never been done before.

The 2011 East End Film Festival takes place between Wednesday 27th April and Monday 2nd May, with 'The Libertines - There Are No Innocent Bystanders' screening as part of the opening gala.
